This site, bhdrv.com, is operated by Cartwheel, LLC, a South Dakota limited liability company, with a principal office in Sioux City, SD. Basset Hound Down is a trade name (d/b/a) of Cartwheel, LLC. References to "we" and "this site" mean Cartwheel, LLC operating under that trade name.
This privacy policy explains what information Basset Hound Down collects, why, and how it is handled. The goal is to keep it short and honest.
What this site collects
When you use the note porch or the campfire chat, the message you type is saved to a private database so the site owner can read it. Your name and email address are optional and are never published on the public site.
Standard server logs may record basic technical information like the type of browser you use and approximate geographic region, as is common with most websites hosted on cloud infrastructure.
What this site does not do
- This site does not sell your information to anyone.
- This site does not serve third-party advertising by default.
- This site does not require an account or password from visitors.
- This site does not track you across the broader web.
Search engine preference
If you use the search bar on the home page, your preferred search engine choice is saved in a cookie on your device so it is remembered next time. That cookie stays on your device and is not sent anywhere else.
Campfire Chat
Messages sent through the Campfire Chat feature are processed by a third-party AI service (Google Gemini) to generate responses. Chat messages are logged in the site's private database for moderation and safety purposes. Do not share sensitive personal information in the chat.
Audio & voice features
The campfire chat has two optional voice features. Both are off by default — you have to tap a button to turn them on, and you can turn them off at any time.
- Voice input (microphone, 🎤). When you tap the microphone button, your browser’s built-in speech recognition listens on your device and converts what you say into text in the chat box. The audio of your voice does not leave your device — only the resulting text is sent to the site, and only when you submit the message. Tapping the microphone button again, or closing the chat panel, immediately stops listening.
- Voice replies (🔊). When you tap the voice-replies button, the girls’ chat replies are read aloud. This uses your browser’s built-in text-to-speech, which runs on your device. If the site administrator has enabled higher-quality cloud-based voices, the text of the reply (only the text — never any audio of you) is sent to Google Cloud Text-to-Speech, which returns synthesized audio for that reply.
This site does not record, store, transmit, or save audio of you. There is no audio file of your voice on our servers, in our backups, or anywhere else — not even temporarily. Speech recognition happens entirely inside your own browser, and the chat database only ever contains the text you submitted.
If you have not tapped either voice button, none of these features run and your microphone is not accessed.
Third-party services
The site is hosted on Google Cloud Platform infrastructure. Standard GCP service terms and Google's privacy policies apply to underlying infrastructure. If third-party ads are ever enabled in the future, that will be disclosed here first.
Payments and card data
Card payments on bhdrv.com are processed by Stripe, a PCI-DSS Level 1 certified payment provider. Card numbers, CVV codes, and other sensitive payment details are entered directly into Stripe's secure checkout — they never touch our servers. We can see only the limited information Stripe shares with us about completed transactions (order id, amount, customer name and email, last four digits of the card, and Stripe's own payment id) so that we can ship your order and answer questions about it. We do not store, log, or have any way to retrieve your full card number.
Media and photos
All photos and videos on this site feature Frankie, Henrietta, Piper, and their people. They are shared for the enjoyment of the community and are not available for reproduction without permission.
